Creating Article Frames
Reusable story layout templates
Article Frames are reusable templates for article layouts. They define the structure (headline, image, body) and can be placed multiple times in templates, with each instance filled with different content.
1. Assign Content Types
✓ CriticalThe most important step: tell the system what each text frame contains.
- Alt+click each text frame in the group
- Properties Panel → "Article Content Type"
- Choose:
headline, subheadline, body, byline, date, orcaption - For headline/subheadline/body: also choose a content style subtype
- This controls HOW the AI writes the content
Building Templates
Complete page layouts from article frames
Templates are complete newspaper page layouts. They position multiple Article Frame instances, add mastheads, decorative elements, and define the overall page structure.
1. Start with Blank Canvas
✓ SetupBegin with a blank page. Choose your page size and set margins.
- File → New or start from Dashboard
- Page sizes: Compact Broadsheet (1247×1965), Broadsheet (1440×2112), Tabloid, Custom
